The National Airports Corporation is considering relocation plans for non-aeronautical operators to allow for the further redevelopment of Jackson airport.

Managing director Joseph Tupiri said the relocation plans were part of the airport’s redevelopment exercise.

It will talk to companies affected by the relocation plan. They include Travel Car, Avis, Deugro, TNT, Vuksich and Borich, Wamomo, Fikor, Wridgeways, Conchshell Investment Ltd and Mai Corporation.

The relocation plans are in line with its  expansion and preparation for key events such as the 2016 Under-20 women’s World Cup and the 2018 APEC meeting, which will attract high-profile people.

The companies are situated along the Jackson’s Parade.

It was claimed that these companies are encroaching on land that belongs to the National Airports Corporation, which is now repossessing the land to carry out infrastructure works.
