Lite Haus International (LHI) donated 65 desktop computers to three primary schools and one high school in Daulo, Eastern Highlands, this week.
The presentation at Mando High School on Monday marked the launch of LHI rolling out computer distributions to 30 schools.
LHI country manager Peter Raim presented 20 desktop computers to Mando High School, and 15 desktop computers each to Korepa, Yamiufa and Mando Primary Schools, as the first schools in the province to be recipients.
He said all the information needed are installed on the computers and they don’t need a library building.
“We are fast moving into the modern era, LTI is supporting schools in the provinces to change and catch up with the modern digital future lying forward, we are also installing
E-library for students to read books and do research using the computers,” he said.
Raim told the schools that since the computers distributed have all the necessary information and applications installed, they are all offline meaning they do not need data to go online.
LHI has already supported 223 schools in PNG and 319 schools in Australia, Fiji, Kiribati, Solomon Island, Philippines, Samoa and others in Europe.
Mando Secondary School principal Bob Hamakore assured Raim that the equipment would be put to good use for the intended purpose to support the students in the delivery of quality education.
