HOUSING Minister John Kaupa, pictured, says a team from the National Housing Corporation is conducting an audit around the country to identify all its properties in the districts.
“I have directed the team to check all the houses.”
He said the Gulf provincial government was the first to identify all the NHC houses.
“We can work with them to know what NHC houses will be offloaded to them so that they will be responsible for them. And we will do the same for Northern.”
Sohe MP Henry Amuli wanted to know the status of Government houses at the Ioma government station in Northern.
“That station was once beautiful. Now all the Government buildings like the council chambers, office and houses for public servants have been reclaimed by bushes. All the Government officers are in Popondetta town. So I want to know which National Housing Corporation houses are so that my District Development Authority can take over and manage these houses. And public servants can return and live in those NHC houses.”
