MINISTER for Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology Minister and Member for Imbonggu Pila Niningi, pictured, commended the PNGRFL for putting a strong team against the England Knights.
Niningi, a former president of PNG Referee’s Association, said the country would be behind the Kumuls when they take on the Knights in Lae.
Niningi said he hoped the side learned from the loss to the Prime Ministers 13 game against Australia earlier in the month.
“Players must learn to pass; a one man game is not good,”Niningi said.
“We may be smaller but we have the advantage of playing at home, in our conditions, and the support from everyone will help.
“We have a great coaching staff which would’ve prepared the team well in terms of fitness and game plans.
“We can win. I want to congratulate Kumuls captain David Mead and the Kumuls staff for their efforts so far.
“Use your strength and take pride in your game. Remember you are not only playing as a team but as a representative for your beautiful country,” Niningi said.
