THE Moresby Northeast electoral account at Vulupindi Haus is in the red, Moresby Northeast MP Labi Amaiu claims.
Amaiu said he had written to the Department of Finance to audit the accounts that had been used over the past five years.
Spending documents over the last three years had not been furnished and there was no money to start work,  Amaiu said.
He is questioning the use of K17 million paid out in January for road projects.
The MP for Moresby Northwest said Health Minister Michael Malabag had K12 million remaining in his electoral accounts while Moresby South had K3 million and National Capital District also had money to spend after the election.
He wants the audit team to check the account so that he can start fresh.
With the support of NCD Governor Powes Parkop and NCD board of commissioner, Amaiu hopes to get a few projects endorsed for his electorate.
“We want a great project to have impact on the lives of people instead of boomerang projects,”
he said.
