No more excuses, time to sack Lam

TWO disastrous World Cups is more than sufficient for Adrian Lam to step down in shame.

The performance of the Kumuls starting at Kokopo when they played the Kangaroos and their three subsequent World Cup matches in England shows that Lam is  not the fit to continue as coach.

We watched the games in England and it was well below our expectations because of biased selection and players playing out of positions.

PNG was surprised that Mal Meninga saw it fit to talk defensively when a reporter asked if one of the reasons why Kumuls did not perform to expectation was because they played out of their normal positions.

It was obvious from the start when Lam picked his team for the World Cup.

Many of the players who deserved to wear the Kumuls jersey missed out on selection because it was a biased selection.

The Kumuls is far bigger than his personal interest and financial benefits and he is right now not the best person for the job.

The team does not belong to any individual including the sports minister.

The performance of the team was the worst and when the country expects heads to roll, the sports minister seems to have a personal interest in Lam.

I am now calling on the sports minister to see that Lam’s contract is brought forward and discharged to make way for a capable coach to take charge of the Kumuls’ development concept in preparation for the next World Cup.
