Nomination forms given out in Morobe

NOMINATION forms for this year’s general election are being distributed in Morobe, according to assistant provincial election manager Fredah Joses.
The forms are for the nomination of candidates, information on candidates and the political party they belong to (if any).
Joses said the forms for political party endorsement should be filled out correctly and stamped.
She urged candidates to pay their nomination fees with their respective local level government coordinators.
“Whoever is intending to contest should confirm that, pay their nomination fees and fill out the forms correctly,” she said.
“If they are contesting under a political party, it’s important to clearly state who is paying their nomination fees.”
Joses warned that the process of getting refunds was long.
“So the electoral office is advising intending candidates to make it right at the beginning.”
Candidates were also advised to present documents at the time of nomination with their deposit slips and a ID photo attached to their forms.
