THE interim president of the National Souths Basketball League Timothy Mako has thanked Mendi MP Isaac Joseph, the major sponsor and patron National Souths basketball challenge, for the commitment to continue supporting this year’s event.
Mako, who was reluctant to reveal the package, said this year’s competition would be bigger and better compared to previous tournaments.
He said the competition would start on June 4-6 in Mendi town.
He said the league also had a new interim board in place which was working hard to make this year’s tournament a success.
He said many Southern Highlanders living in other provinces were expected to send teams for the event.
Mako said a lot of teams had shown their interest and urged business houses to support the event.
He said the competition was aimed at maintaining unity among the Southern Highlanders and also keeping youths occupied.
