Numu and Akunai

Letters

EASTERN Highlands Governor Peter Numu, after endorsing Samson Akunai to the administrator’s post, hastily backflips the decision.
He has overlooked two deputy provincial administrators, who are much more senior in rank and experience than his current choice.
Even more hilarious is the fact that he has opted for a ‘deputy’ and not anyone of the incumbent directors within the workforce.
We believe he is reacting to something, certainly not a bee sting.
What kind of routine is this?
It may not be a myth to suggest he wants a junior ‘Mr Yes’ man in place to facilitate what is too obvious.
For instance, Numu must reciprocate his demands on Akunai by explaining to Eastern Highlanders the delay of the K22 million Goroka Market re-development project.
I now call on the chairman of the National Executive Council, and all the eight MPs from Eastern Highlands, to deal with the issue once and for all for the province’s sake.
