EASTERN Highlands Governor Peter Numu, maintains that acting Eastern Highlands administrator Samson Akunai will be replaced despite Minister for Public Service Elias Kapavore’s direction to keep him.
Numu claimed that over the past eight months after the election, Akunai could not perform to expectations.
“I am mandated by the 600,000 people of the province and I fear that if he is in office, I will not deliver to the people so I want him replaced,” Numu said.
“Regardless of what happens, I want a permanent administrator and I call for re-advertisement of the position so someone from outside the province can come and be the administrator so I can comfortably work with him to deliver to the people.”
Numu said Kapavore cannot tell him what to do because he was the governor.
