Odour affecting business along highway

Islands, Normal

AN oil spill from a palm oil container truck along the Kimbe-Hoskins Highway is causing environmental damage and making business difficult for those who live and work in that vicinity, a small time businessman Paul Wapi told The National yesterday.
Mr Wapi, who is an agent for Niugini Tablebirds, sells live chicks and chicken feed, is finding business hard as most of his clients do not want to go there any more because of the odour emitted from the waste oil (sludge).
He said he had lost two boxes of live chicks and he is not getting new orders.
