A policeman based in Kagua, Southern Highlands allegedly shot his wife dead with a police issue rifle in their house on Saturday night.
Provincial police commander Chief Inspector Gideon Kauke said the couple did not have any children and the motive of the killing was not known.
“Police do not know whether their colleague was under the influence of alcohol. This will be revealed during investigation,” he said.
Kauke said the husband had allegedly gone into hiding but was flushed out and picked up by the new Eastern End taskforce early yesterday.
He said the husband was in custody.
