SOUTHERN Highlands education adviser Anna Emeck says teacher postings will now go by the book, adhering to the legal process. “Unlike in the past, when the entire process was hijacked, corrupted and bribed, there are ways to conduct proper postings,” she said. Emeck said many teachers were seen working on the streets instead of in the classroom because of poor postings. “Posting quality teachers is the core business of providing quality education, but Southern Highlands has been missing out over the years,” she said. “Even teacher postings cannot be influenced by a school board or a parent’s representative.“This year and beyond, under my management, I would like to see more questions or queries about teacher postings. “If you have any issues, come to the office. “My door is always open to anyone.“Some of these problems have contributed to the fall in the education standard in the province.” Emeck urged everyone to promote the education sector and play their part to ensure they made a fresh start.
