AROUND 100 senior police officers in Eastern Highlands are sitting for promotional examinations this week.
Police training officer Reuben Hombiahe said 19 officers with the rank of senior constable sat for the sergeant all-class examinations.
He said those who passed the exam could apply for any vacant sergeant’s position.
“To qualify to apply for the position they are required to pass the sergeant all-class examination,” Hombiahe said. He said three officers who were listed to sit for the examination were absent.
Hombiahe said officers were in two groups, the first was the sergeant all-class that sat for examination yesterday.
Five chief sergeants in the province will sit for the inspector all-class examination.
He said on passing, the officers could apply for vacant inspector’s positions.
