Officers sworn in as board members

TWO Assistant Police Commissioners were officially sworn in as members of the Police Promotions Board on Monday at the national police headquarters in Port Moresby.
Assistance Commissioner of Police and Commander for the Northern Divisional Command Peter Guinness and the Assistance Commissioner for Management Services Joab Mangae were officially sworn in during a ceremony witnessed by Police Commissioner David Manning, Police Minister Bryan Kramer and other senior police officers.
Commissioner Manning by virtue of the powers conferred upon him by Section 51 (13) of the Police Force Act, 1998, announced the board.
The promotions of other officers and the rank and file will be on March 9.
Rev Sommy Setu, former Bishop of the Lutheran Church of Port Moresby was reappointed chairman of the Police Promotions and Selection Board by Minister Kramer for another 12-month period.
