THE Tanobada Botai Laurina (TBL) Kuriu Volleyball Association in Elevala, National Capital District, concluded week three of its second round of matches on Saturday with the competition winding down its inaugural season.
Association president Ted Mea told The National that the competition had only two weeks of matches before the finals with notable improvements in the standard of the game.
“We only have two more weeks before we conclude our rounds and head into the finals,” he said.
“Prior to that, we will be having our Easter break because our players and the community will be engaged in church activities during that time.
“All our sporting activities run in line with what the churches will be doing.
“So we will be respecting that time which will see us take a two-week break, but that’s a tentative plan.
“There has definitely been an improvement to the quality of the games, we’re slowly progressing to the standards that we want and you can see that teams are competitive.
“We’re learning and growing but there are already signs of development in the game with the basics, players getting the small things right.
“Players are starting to realise and change their approach to their games and that’s obvious with how teams and individuals think.”
Meanwhile, Mea said the association had received a commitment of K5,000 from businessman Lohia Boio Samuel with the money to go towards cash prizes and trophies next month.
