OFP announce fight night with nine bouts scheduled

THE Oceania Fight Promotions has announced the draw for their first event for 2024, which will see a total 18 professional boxers compete nine bouts on March 30.
One of the main bouts will see Pacific Games gold medalist Liranda Kidu taking on Antoinette Loga in the women’s heavyweight division.
OFP managing director Maryanne Millie said she was yet to confirm the venue but the draws were out already.
In the men’s heavyweight clash, John Decklam will face Lukas Wakore while Napoleon Susub will take on Andrew Aisanga in other main bouts.
In the lead up bouts, Kopi Mahuta will face Liam Kevi in the 54kg followed by Smooth Tiriva and Tasi Gaffa clash in the 57kg.
Joe Kara will face Lui Rex (63kg), Graham Mamu will take on Teejay David (63kg) while former PNG champion Raka Kauko Jr will face Richard Paul (61kg).
Millie said there would not be any international bouts in this event. She said there was possibility of international fights which was scheduled for mid-year.
“We are proud and excited to kick start our 2024 events with this fight night,” Millie said about the upcoming bout.
“It’s good for the boxers and their families as they can earn some money from the fights.
“OFP has been running its events for almost five years now and it has always been about promoting professional boxing and giving more opportunities to local boxers show what they can offer at the professional level.
“We want to engage the youths who unemployed, not only men but women and girls as well; we want to keep occupied and they can stay away from bad habits and use their talent to do positive things.
“We have two women’s division bouts in the lineup and that’s one of the highlight of the event. We want to encourage more women to go into professional boxing,” she said.
