OFP to host fight night in Moresby

OCEANIA Fight Promotions (OFP) will host a local fight night at the Sir John Guise Stadium Indoor Complex in Port Moresby on Sunday.
The night features seven fights which will each last for eight three-minute rounds.
All the boxers signed their fight contracts at the stadium last Friday.
OFP events manager Noel Sarei said local professional boxing kept underprivileged youths active.
“Professional boxing gives opportunities to unemployed youths to express their talents,” he said. “I can assure the sponsors that such event will help develop more youths to be responsible members of their community.
“The weigh-in will be on Saturday which is 24 hours before the fights.
“The signing of the contract by the boxers is a significant milestone because it helps address unemployment and poverty in our country.
“OFP has a vision to get more unfortunate young men and women involved in boxing.”
