OILMIN Field Services, a Papua New Guinean remote field support services company, has presented food rations to Team PNG members who will be attending the Pacific Mini Games and the Commonwealth Games this year.
Oilmin Field Services made the presentation to the Papua New Guinea Olympic Committee (PNGOC) and Team PNG at its operations yard in Port Moresby.
Team PNG chefs de mission to the respective Games were on hand to receive the donations on Thursday.
Pacific Mini Games chef de mission Kila Dick welcomed the assistance and thanked the management and board of Oilmin Field Services for helping Team PNG during the Coronavirus pandemic.
“Your support helps relieve some of our costs,” he said.
“Team PNG will be departing on June 12 for Saipan where the team arrives before the opening of the Games Village.
“This means we will be required to provide our own meals before June 14, so these supplies will help us feed our team.
“This support will go a long way in ensuring our athletes perform to the best of their abilities against the top athletes from within the Pacific Island nations in their various sports.”
Commonwealth Games chef de mission Michael Henao also thanked the company for its assistance.
He assured that Team PNG would do their best in both Games in their bid to fly the country’s flag and be great ambassadors of the nation.
