Ok Tedi Mining appoints new chief executive

MUSJE Werror has been appointed managing director and chief executive of Ok Tedi Mining Ltd (OTML), replacing Peter Graham.
Chairman Sir Moi Avei made the announcement yesterday for Werror’s appointment to be effective on Monday June 1.
Graham had held the role since May 2015.
Werror’s career spans more than 30 years with Ok Tedi, having joined through the company’s graduate development scheme.
Werror assumed progressively more senior roles leading to his current position as deputy chief executive and general manager external relations.
He played a leading role in the management of community relations in Western and is currently chairman of Ok Tedi Development Foundation and chairman of Western provincial health authority.
He is a council member of the PNG Chamber of Mines and Petroleum. Werror attained a bachelor of science degree from the University of PNG and Masters degrees in business administration and professional accounting from the Divine Word University.
With the transfer of the State’s 67 per cent shareholding in OTML to Kumul Minerals Holdings Ltd (KMHL) now approved, Graham will assume the role of chairman and acting managing director of KMHL on a full-time basis to progress entity.
