Member for Okapa and Minister for Defence Saki Soloma expressed this desire during a visit to his electorate on Saturday by Australian Defence Minister Senator Linda Reynolds.
Soloma told Reynolds that the Okapa people appreciated the history that PNG and Australia shared and it was his intention to strengthen this relationship.
In welcoming Reynolds to Okapa, Soloma said the district was ready to work alongside the Australian government through DCP to deliver much-needed basic infrastructure and services to the people.
Soloma told Reynolds that the Government had also announced plans to engage PNGDF at the forefront of nation building and connect with the community.
