One dead in robbery

A ROBBERY last Friday at Mutzing in Markham, Morobe, left one dead and two injured, Morobe police commander Supt Alex N’Drasal said.
“The criminals are still on the run and are believed to be crooks from Lae,” N’Drasal said. “They hired a blue 10-seater, went up to Mutzing, held up a Chinese shop and got out of the shop. When one of the money boxes fell on the road and three men rushed to get the money, one was shot dead by the criminals.
“The other two were injured.”
“The criminals escaped because policemen didn’t have firearms.
“Their firearms were destroyed when their station was burnt to ashes. In retaliation, the village people attacked the policemen and broke their houses down. They also stoned the district administrator, his office and his house.”

  • Sweet payment of robbery. Kisim ah? Graun ino stap? Nonap wok? You want to prey on other peoples sweat ok cut your life short, it aint worth it. Cos you not contributing to the development of the country anyway!

  • George, the dead man is not the criminal. Its a bystander who was trying to get the money box that fell from the criminals hands. The criminals ran away unhurt.
