A COMMUNITY leader in East New Britain has praised the seven Opposition MPs for maintaining their stand in the House.

Kipling Ture, 40, said yesterday in Kokopo that the seven MPs were true servants of the people.

“Those remaining in the Opposition are real servants of the people. They are serving with honesty and integrity and we salute them for that,” he said.

He said some people in his community at Kokopo were confused and wanted to know what would happen if all MPs joined the Government.

He also suggested that amendments be made to the law to allow people to elect the prime minister through the current electoral system.
