BETTING on the National Rugby League and State Of Origin is now open at the Pacific Racing & Sports Betting Ltd in Port Moresby.
This was confirmed by Pacific Betting manager Peter McCoy of the new addition to the betting that local punters are picking the NRL grand finalists earlier which is set for September 30 and the State Of Origin series on Wednesday, June 20 and July 11.
“There are great odds on for the State of Origin series and NRL matches and earlier you put down the better,” McCoy said.
Pacific Racing & Sports Betting Limited although a new player in the gaming industry, has gained prominence with its computerised betting system and great range of betting options since its inception in October 2015.
McCoy said the 2018 Origin series would be the most exciting in years with the odds close between the two rivals.
He said the number of Blues fans who had been left disappointed series after series for most of the last decade had the best chance to win in light of the retirement of Queensland greats Cameron Smith, Cooper Cronk and Johnathan Thurston over the last 12 months.
McCoy said the Pacific Racing also offered odds on the other overseas football codes popular in the country like Super Rugby, AFL and many other major world sports.
“There has been growing interest from NRL rugby league fans at the Pacific Racing Betting Shop outlets located at Gordon, Badili and the SP Syndicate at Boroko,” McCoy said.
“We’ve seen a rise in NRL betting with punters requesting for NRL draws and placing bets especially around Thursdays or early on Wednesdays.”
McCoy said the NRL betting was just part of their line of products for the punters and they wanted to give them more options apart from the racing.
“Betting options include, head-to-head, doubles, trebles and accumulators while multiple doubles and trebles are accepted,” McCoy said.
Pacific Racing has a maximum payout limit of K100,000 on wins and K60,000 on other bets.
