Orlando Bloom knows successful partnerships often require personal growth.
The actor was a guest on the “What Now? with Trevor Noah” podcast, where he discussed his new documentary series Orlando Bloom: To the Edge. Noah also asked about his life away from work, commenting that Bloom and his partner Katy Perry seemed to be living “a life of normalcy.”
“I think one of the things that I fell in love with Katy was, she hates when I say this, so I have to word it carefully, but her music was everywhere, right? When I came up it was just on every radio station, but I wasn’t conscious of what I was listening to. But I fell in love with Katheryn, this girl from Santa Barbara,” Bloom replied.
He continued, saying Perry had parents who were “pastors living on food stamps. We’re not talking glamorous Montecito. It’s the side (of Santa Barbara) that no one knows.”
Bloom said Perry also “demands that I evolve, and I feel I do the same for her.”
“And that makes for fireworks, pardon the pun,” he said. “But it also makes for a lot of fun and a lot of growth.”
The two began dating in 2016. They welcomed a daughter, Daisy Dove, in 2020.
Bloom added that he wouldn’t change the relationship for anything.
“I wouldn’t change it for anything, even when sometimes it feels like, ‘How do we do this?’ Because we’ve got these two giant careers and lives, and hers is like a universe sometimes,” he said. “But I think I just keep coming back to her and trying to hold her hand and walk her back to the sand pit and be like, we’re just going to build a sandcastle.”

Home and Away stars Roberts and Stewart have quietly divorced
James Stewart and Sarah Roberts.

Home and Away stars Sarah Roberts and James Stewart have quietly divorced, the Australian actress has revealed.
Speaking to Stellar magazine, Roberts, 39, said she had been “afraid” to talk about their split publicly until now, due to “stigma and shame”.
They settled their divorce five weeks ago after marrying in July 2019.
“I just want to say that I am divorced … ,” said Roberts, who left the Channel 7 soap in 2021. Stewart, 48, still stars.
“What I’ve learnt from this journey of becoming a divorcee is that it’s so important to reach out to others who have experienced similar things and not hide in the shadows.
“I hid for a very long time. There were times when I didn’t feel like I could see the light or a way out of these big, complex emotions that I was feeling.
“But I hope that by just being honest today, I’ll free myself, and potentially free a lot of other people, to be able to speak their truth”.
Roberts, who is also a DJ, suggested the pair – who fell in love on Home and Away in 2017 – had grown apart.
“My belief of marriage is that two people grow and learn from each other together. Sometimes people just grow apart and that’s OK,” she said. – news.com.au

Beckham files lawsuit against Hollywood actor
David Beckam

David Beckham, pictured, is suing actor Mark Wahlberg after a fitness brand deal soured — leaving him £8.5 million (K40.1 million) out of pocket.
His firm, DB Ventures Ltd, is claiming the Hollywood star “duped” the England football legend into working with F45, reports The Sun.
Beckham, 48, agreed to be the firm’s global ambassador when he moved to LA, where he and Wahlberg, 52, became friends.
He is also suing the actor’s firm, Mark Wahlberg Investment Group (MWIG), and gym group F45’s founders Adam Gilchrist and Rob Deutsch.
He claims he lost more than $16.4 million (K62.8 million) when stocks he was promised were withheld until after share prices plummeted.
Wahlberg and his co-defendants claim the allegations of “fraudulent conduct” are baseless and have asked a judge to dismiss the lawsuit.

Taylor broke Spotify record with new album
Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift’s new album, The Tortured Poets Department, has broken the record for Spotify’s most-streamed in a single day, the platform said.
The pop sensation also became the most-streamed artist in a single day.
Her hotly anticipated album was released, sending Swifties around the world into a frenzy.
It contains 31 tracks in which the megastar lays bare her heartbreak and appears to direct anger at former partners.
The first 16 tracks dropped as scheduled, but just a few hours later, an additional 15 tracks were released, giving her fans plenty to dive into – as well as sending music journalists into a tailspin.
Swift said the album was an anthology of new works reflecting “events, opinions and sentiments from a fleeting and fatalistic moment in time – one that was both sensational and sorrowful in equal measure”.
She went on to declare that period in her life “now over”.
“The chapter closed and boarded up. There is nothing to avenge, no scores to settle once wounds have healed,” she said. “Once we have spoken our saddest story, we can be free of it.”
Swift announced the arrival of her 11th studio album live on stage at the Grammy Awards in February. – BBC
