Outlets open at plaza

Business

THE CHM (Chin Hoi Meen) group has opened two new stores at the new Rangeview Plaza shopping mall at Waigani in Port Moresby, according to the company.
The company in a statement said the first ever CHM store started in Rabaul in 1949 as a small milk bar selling comic books.
It later expanded to Port Moresby with a photography store offering black and white film processing.
CHM’s retail business has evolved many times over the last 74 years – from a milk bar to a photography store selling cameras and offering film processing, to a toy store, to selling consumer electronics.
“We have always been evolving our retail business to keep up with changes in the market and we pride ourselves in bringing the newest innovative products to PNG first,” managing director Raymond Chin said.
Today CHM is a leading retailer in technology, information technology, gaming, consumer electronics and the latest gadgetry, providing a retail experience similar to what you would experience anywhere else in the world.
CHM is the appointed distributor for global brands such as Sony, Panasonic, JBL, Avita and many other international brands.
“Our mission has always been to provide high quality products that can improve the lives of Papua New Guineans – these new stores allow us to continue fulfilling that mission,” Chin said.
