Ox & Palm set to release ‘silver’ corned beef

THE Kraft Heinz company will be introducing a new Ox & Palm ‘silver’ corned beef product next month, says marketing manager Pradipa Osadawedya Syarif.
Syarif told The National yesterday that the product would join the blue and red labels Ox and Palm with retail price for the 340g silver label to be between K7 and K8.
“You will be seeing the new silver Ox & Palm product in the Port Moresby market, around mid-October,” he said.
“We have done our research, consumer sampling, we have been working on the recipe over the last eight months and we believe it has a great taste and will be loved by everyone,” Syarif said.
He said Ox & Palm was no longer on the shelves in Fiji, after pulling out last month due to competition with Oxford corned beef, which was introduced there in December.
“Our product did well for the first couple of months, but apparently, the competition in Fiji is quite different than here in PNG, where here, our brand is much stronger.
It is really loved here, but over there, it is our pricing which was more expensive compared to the biggest player there which is called Oxford.
“Most consumers still preferred the local corned beef.
“But we are going to introduce a new silver Ox and Palm locally as well as tackle our competition in Fiji.”
