Palais named for 7s World Cup

The Papua New Guinea Rugby Football Union has announced the Palais (women’s) squad for this month’s 7s World Cup in San Francisco in the United States.
The union (PNGRFU) said the announcement followed a selection trial match held at the Sir John Guise Stadium last Saturday.
The trial featured players based in Papua New Guinea and Australia.
PNGRFU chairman Syd Yates said it was a great achievement for Papua New Guinea rugby to have the Palais and Pukpuks competing at the World Cup scheduled for July 20-23.
The Palais are now in camp until July 15 when they depart for the tournament which will feature 24 men’s and 16 women’s teams.
