PAGA Panthers kept a depleted Magani scoreless 20-0, in their Port Moresby Rugby League women’s round 17 match at the Murray Barracks Rugby Oval on Sunday.

But they sit on sixth-spot with Sisters on 18 points, with seven matches remaining before the finals in late October.

The Panthers were too good for the young wallabies in the 40-minute challenge that did not reach any great heights.

The return of utility Cathy Neap in the centres, combined with halves Florence Kama, Daisy John and a strong effort from forwards Waikili John, Winnie Melpa, Cynthia Marle and Jacklyn Jack was too much for a game but out-gunned Magani.

Magani captain Talitha Joseph, Waisi Judas and Janet Minty lacked the support to be competitive over the duration of the match.

Sisters scored tries through Nancy Ipame, Marle and reserve Malaysia Jackson, while John kicked two goals.

Magani did well to trail 4-0 after the first half, but were overpowered in the second 20.
