PORT Moresby Nature Park entertained a record 13,000 visitors last month.

General manager Michelle McGeorge said: “We have had a wonderful month in what is the start of our busy end of year graduation and company Christmas party season.”

The park is set host more than 400 functions this year and hosted more than 100,000 visitors.

McGeorge attributed the success to the continuous improvements and upgrades at the park, new attractions, increased customer service, safety and the desire of the public to support NCDC’s leading non-profitable community entity.

“We have started opening sections of our new main entry, including a new car park, ticketing booths and flower shop and I am pleased to announce that our new Nature’s Café will be opening to the public on October 14  to provide meals, drinks and function-catering for guests to the park,” McGeorge said.

Port Moresby nature parks reservations supervisor Hannah Kusau advised that the park operated a full reservations system similar to that of a hotel where prompt quotations and bookings for customers could be made.

The park is open daily from 8am and is located next to POM National High School.
