NATIONAL Capital District Governor Powes Parkop has urged all city residents to get the Coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccine to avoid further lockdowns and restrictions.
During the start of the mobile vaccination campaign in the capital city, Parkop said vaccination was the key to reducing or stopping the spread people of the pandemic.
He condemned those passing around false information on social media about the possible side effects of the vaccines.
He is fully vaccinated and says he feels “fine”.
Parkop also warned politicians to push their people to get vaccinated, especially in busy centres such as Port Moresby.
The mobile vaccination team will be visiting locations in the city including settlements.
It will travel to settlements if the residents there want it to.
He defended companies telling their workers to get vaccinated because “it is for the good of everyone and no one should complain about the issue”.
But everyone should still decide for themselves. The mobile vaccination campaign began at City Pharmacy Ltd outlets yesterday and will finish tomorrow.
