Pastor calls for unity among council members

A PASTOR is urging Central’s council members and staff to find value in themselves in order to bring changes to its administration.
Pastor Jack Edwards said the power of unity among people could create new beginnings that can shift the impossibilities to possibilities.
“Unity can bring change to the administration and the provincial government that can revolutionise the people of Central.
“Revolution is not the same as transformation, transformation is changing something, revolution is about change of direction.”
He said the act of unity would only prevail if they (administrative staff) remained in the presence of God.
“You can have policies and structures, but if it does not have the presence of God, it cannot function. It is like dry bones.
“Secondly, you need to understand the history of these place, where your administration is located.
“You must know your history and I hope you understand what this land is. “This piece of land is different from the land of parliament and elsewhere.
“Because the first administration that came to Papua New Guinea was in this place, the first missionaries that came set foot in this place.
“The explorers who came from overseas and tried to settle came here.
“This is where the ships came in, they wanted to bring development to us through colonisation.
“If you began to see ’60s and ’80s on how administration was run, it was able to work perfectly.”
Edwards urged the staff and members to reflect on their history, work in unity and in the presence of God in order to bring change to the administration and the province.
He made the remarks during the provincial government’s dedication service recently in Port Moresby.
“This meeting is about bringing God in.
“God will not intervene if you do not make a commitment to bring Him down.”
