Pastor: Church reaching out to Highlands

National

THE establishment of a new Pentecostal church in Kuminul in the local level government area of Elimbari in Chimbu will pave a way for it to reach out to the other regions, Pastor John Boyo says.
He said the church would extend its ministry to other parts of the Highlands, including Goroka, Mt Hagen and Jiwaka, to spread the gospel and encourage people to seek divine powers when they are in need.
“We want to make sure our church is established in other parts of the Highlands,” he said.
“Our church is new but I believe more people will still join.”
Pastor Boyo said this was the second church to be opened since the establishment of the ministry in 2018 by the late Pastor Saklin Kola in Port Moresby.
Pastor Boyo said the construction of the church cost more than K50,000 which was from contributions of members and fundraising activities.
He said a set of instruments costing K15,000 was presented to the church.
More than 80 church members travelled to Chimbu for the opening.
Pastor Boyo said the church started in 2018 and was founded by the late Pastor Chris Duma in Port Moresby and was built on biblical principles.
He said the church had more than 700 followers and he believed that more and more followers would join when they reached out to the other provinces in Papua New Guinea.

  • A church founded by late pastor Chris Duma?

Wow, and thought it was Jesus who founded the one and only Church. Looks like in PNG, anyone who reads the Bible can become a pastor and founder of HIS church. This shows that after all we have understood nothing about the Gospel and about salvation history….
