A TOTAL of 115 pathfinders of Rainbow Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) church attended a two-day first aid training delivered by the St John Ambulance, last Thursday and Friday.
Church pathfinder director Andrew Haiai said the first aid training would help the pathfinders to be well equipped and be first responders in the event of accidents during camps and hikes.
“The Pathfinders have learnt, comprehensively, what is means to be a first aider at their age level.
“It will go a long way for them in their pathfinder activities which involves camps and hikes and their life at home as well,” Haiai said.
He said for a training of such, it was the first time for the pathfinders to have gone through it.
“It will continue in the years to come so that every pathfinder can be equipped in saving lives as first aiders,” Haiai said.
“It is important for the pathfinders to learn first aid because it will equip them to save lives as first responders wherever they are at home, school or play.
He explained for the junior pathfinders who were at ages 10 to 13, comprised of friend, companion and explorer classes, they had the training on the first day.
He said the pathfinders had the training in two parts which were theory and practical and was interactive.
