THE local organising committee for the National Corporate Sevens football tournament set for the Independence weekend are appealing for teams to submit their fees.

National Corporate Sevens tournament spokesman Sailosi Druma said Hekari Holdings through its business arm, Maxpro Security Ltd was the major sponsor of the soccer challenge
Druma said the tournament was expected to be deferred to tomorrow because more players were calling to register teams.
“I will be talking to John Kapi Natto – the vice-president of PNG Football Association (PNGFA) to see if we can defer the tournament to Friday,” he said.
The tournament will run from Sept 15-17.
Kapi Natto said the corporate football tournament was sanctioned by the PNGFA.
“We have the blessing from the national body, and the tournament will be bi-ennially to allow centres to prepare themselves for the event.”
The tournament is expected to be the richest with winners in men’s division walking away with K10,000 and the Cup and the women collect K5,000 and trophy.
The registration fee for the tournament is K1,000 for men and K500 for the women.
Interested persons wishing to register teams should contact the PNGFA office in Port Moresby or Lae for more information.
