Pay ward recorders’ outstanding payments

Letters

THE General Election 2022 is just around the corner and I want to express my disappointment with the New Ireland government through the autonomy office for the delay in processing outstanding allowances for ward recorders for three years.
The ward recorders want an explanation on the delay.
The long delay was due to the negligence by Kavieng MP for not making funds available for ward recorders’ allowances. Former Kavieng MP Ben Micah made sure ward recorders were paid.
New Ireland Governor Sir Julius Chan once came on board to pay ward recorders, but to date, nothing has been paid.
The outstanding allowances include those from 2018 to 2021.
Please do something about this.
