A CATERING business in Port Moresby is proud to be getting orders from around the world, using Bank South Pacific’s payment systems.
Tapioca Delight owner Ginia Sialis said this after marking their one year anniversary since using BSP’s internet payment gateway (IPG) facility.
“BSP’s ecommerce platform has completely revolusionised our business and given it a modern edge,” she said.
“Our customers are able to order their cakes and cup cakes, and catering directly from our website.
“They are able to add the products to their shopping carts and make their payments using their credit cards or visa debit cards and that is for customers in PNG and also overseas.
“We have received orders from the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Germany and these are from Papua New Guineans living overseas.
“Recently, we received an order from the United Kingdom.
“What the BSP gateway payment eliminates is the additional fees which those international customers would pay if they were paying through Western Union, it also eliminates fees that we would have to pay to receive that money, and it also saves us time from standing in very long line just to receive that payment.”
Sialis said the mobile merchant facility through mobile banking was also helping her business a lot.
“That is another payment option for our customers, as long as they know our merchant code and the cost of the products they are able to make payment very quickly through SMS banking.”
Tapioca Delight has been in operation since 2012 and is a 100 per cent PNG-owned hospitality business specialising in making cakes, cupcakes and corporate catering.
The company is owned and operated by husband and wife team Sioni and Ginia Sialis.
They have 10 staff.
“Our greatest achievement has been to provide women with employment and training opportunities for their career advancement and personal wellbeing,” Ginia Sialis said.
