The National Pandemic Controller and Police Commissioner David Manning says there will be no road checks in the country unless directed by him.
Comm Manning said all domestic flights should continue to comply with the requirements of hygiene, social distancing, and passengers should complete an air passenger travel form.
“Travel by foot, vehicle and vessel between provinces is not restricted unless restricted by the controller in written direction,” he said. He said no person or organisation was authorised to conduct the Covid-19 testing except for the Health department, Institute of Medical Research, provincial health authorities, Port Moresby General Hospital, St John Ambulance, Ok Tedi Mining, Simberi Gold, 2K Medical Clinic, Lihir Mining, K92 Mining, Sky Health and Medical Services, and Morobe Consolidated Goldfields Ltd.
“No Covid-19 test results shall be released by any person or organisation without the written authorisation of the controller,” he said. He said provincial administrators appointed as authorised officers were responsible for implementing the measures.
