PEOPLE living with disabilities have been given a chance to vote in the Motu-Koitabu Assembly election.

The Electoral Commission has started registering disabled people in local level governments in the

Southern region.

It began yesterday at Laurabada United Church Hall in Hanuabada village, National Capital District.

The plan is to register as many people living with disabilities as possible over the age of 18 to vote in their local level governments and during the national election in 2017.

Electoral Support Programme manager Rodger Bottral said the programme started in 2011 in Kokopo, Lae and Goroka.

Community Development acting Secretary Anna Solomon thanked the Electoral Commission and AusAID for making it possible to register disabled people.
