THE Papua New Guinea Pacific MMI Pepes will now go through trials to select a final squad for the Pacific Netball Series in Samoa from June 4-6.

The trials will be held on Saturday and Sunday at the Sir John Guise Stadium and will be conducted by Paula Stuart, a high performance coach from Queensland Netball.

Following almost two months of training, the Port Moresby-based squad members are all geared up for the final cut, with each hoping for a spot.

The past few weeks saw the team coached by Annie Iamo preparing with ball drills, court work, weights, endurance, hill sprints and block running.

The POM based players will be joined by Australia-based Tiata Baldwin, Cheryl Renagi, Maleta Roberts and Rayleen Andrew who fly in to the country on Friday.

They will be joined by Lae-based Nerrie Adula.

A 15-member team will be selected to continue training until the selection of a final 12-member squad after a high performance training camp at the Australian Institute of Sports at the end of April,

PNG Netball president, Julienne Leka-Maliaki confirmed yesterday.
