AN official of Filipino education placement agency, Paradise International Education Consultancy (PIEC), is touring PNG towns to help students who want to study overseas.

PIEC executive consultant, Jensen Chow, will be visiting Goroka, Mt Hagen and Lae between Sept 6-20 to carry out information sessions on how to go to high school or university in the Philippines.

Since last year, more than 150 students from PNG started university in Cebu City, the 2nd largest city in the Philippines.

The students enrolled at six different universities, and prospective students have more than 50 high schools and universities to choose from.

For the next semester intake in November, PIEC will help more PNG students complete their education in the country with the fifth largest English-speaking population in the world.

Parents can budget K20,000 to K25,000 per year to cover a year’s tuition at a reputable institution, food, board, uniform, school supplies, laptop, groceries, a mobile phone, daily allowance and our facilitation fee.

PIEC has so far worked with PNG’s Office of Higher Education, the Autonomous Bougainville Government and Bougainville External Education Services (BEES).

Last week, President Momis and the Bougainville Executive Council sent a K75,000 subsidy to Bougainville students in Philippines.

Through PIEC’s facilitation services, per student all-inclusive annual expenses are less than K20,000.

This can be compared to university education in Australia where a student would incur up to K80,000 per year in expenses.

PIEC provides PNG students the opportunity to take advantage of the world class education offered by schools in the Philippines.

PIEC can enroll students in high school or university. PIEC will be conducting a nationwide tour in PNG that includes information sessions in Port Moresby daily at 4pm, Goroka (Sept 11), Mt Hagen (Sept 17) and Lae (Sept 20).
