Philippines sets passenger ban after rise in Covid-19 cases

THE Philippines government has advised that no passengers originating from Papua New Guinea would be allowed entry into Manila on any flight from Sept 19 to 30.
Air Niugini said the Philippines’ government decision was due to an increase in the Coronavirus (Covid-19) cases in Papua New Guinea.
Passengers transferring from other countries via Port Moresby to Manila are exempted and may still be uplifted, provided they remained within the transfer lounge at Jackson International Airport during their short stopover.
Accordingly, all passengers presently booked to travel from Port Moresby to Manila on flights departing from Sept 19 to 30 should contact Air Niugini or your travel agent for re-booking onto the next available flights next month.
In addition, a flight for next Sunday from Port Moresby to Manila and return has been cancelled, with all passengers in both directions to re-book for later dates.
