Piggies brace for second half of season

THE remaining 10 weeks in the premier division of the Capital Rugby Union competition will be crucial for the University Piggies, according to coach Paul Joseph.
He told The National on Sunday that his men should not be complacent despite being in the top-three of the 10-team ladder at Bava Park.
“We have done well so far with only one loss and all wins after round 11,” Joseph said.
“But the second half of the season is the most crucial period because all teams will compete strongly leading up to the finals, so we have to maintain consistency.”
Joseph said his side were going through a transition with young players coming through.
“I am happy with our young talents coming through,” he said.
“They are stepping up and making an impact in the premier division.
“Whenever we have injuries, we bring in A-grade players and give them some game time.
“That way, they build confidence in their game.”
