AFTER years of neglect, the Passam National High School pioneers are determined to re-build the school.
The pioneer students, after being visited by pioneer teachers Robert Bob Winnet and Delma Winnet, were saddened by the current state of the school.
They are now rallying all former students to raise funds for the school.
They said Passam was a school of excellence with the theme Nuo Yekende, Mne Yekende, which means I respect you, I respect myself.
The pioneers said when they were there in 1978 and 1979 there was a culture of respect, unity and peace which lasted over 15 years.
However, they said since the practice of cult crept in, the learning environment had been affected.
They said they were told by the Winnetts that most of the buildings were run down, the administration block had been burnt and the sewer not working.
The pioneers in Port Moresby will meet at the Taurama Leisure centre on Dec 4 from noon to 5pm.
In Lae, the pioneers are asked to contact Karo Gamoga on 472 2999 or email [email protected] or Paul Joseph on 7278 5543.
