PJV builds sports facility for school

Education

CHILDREN attending the Aumbi Elementary School in Porgera, Enga, will now have a proper sports facility – thanks to the Porgera Joint Venture.
The school received loads of gravel which was levelled for a volleyball court.
There was also work done for on posts.
A net was put up as well.
Porgera Joint Venture executive managing director Anthony Esplin last month delivered the PJV donation to the school which had successfully piloted the
PJV-facilitated Agrikids programme.
“Aumbi Elementary was the first school to launch the Agrikids programme which has nowbeen successfully implemented at many other communities and schools in Porgera,” he said.
“Education is special for the people of Enga. It will develop kids for the future.”
The donation included stationery.
Community and Social Responsibility manager John Liston said it was good for them tovisit the school and see the PJV Community Development projects.
PJV Community Development officer Peter Tumun said a 1000-litre water tank was also installed at the school.
