PRIME Minister James Marape says his visit to Indonesia from today to April 1 is at the invitation of President Joko Widodo.
He said the trip was to elevate the bilateral relationship between the two countries to another level where PNG and Indonesia could expand their trade and commerce further.
Marape said he was taking with him a delegation of people from key sectors of the country in forestry, fisheries, energy, the Kumul companies, and Investment Promotion Authority, as well as people from in the business community.
“I am taking a business delegation with me on this trip, key people from the business community and our trade and investment sectors.”
Both leaders meet for formal discussions tomorrow during which Marape said PNG would propose a tripartite arrangement between PNG, Indonesia and Australia.
“The tripartite arrangements will be the key point among our discussions where we have the three nations interfacing on key matters such as mutual security, border protection, trade and others,” he said.
“Indonesia is a big economy that we have been underutilising in the past.
“It is forecast that Indonesia will have a high growth rate.
