The Port Moresby Soccer Association (PMSA) is set to kick off its sevens tournament this weekend with 25 teams confirmed to take part in the charity event.
PMSA president Joseph Ealedona said there had been some minor changes to the categories which will now see only men’s and women’s divisions.
He said those who had only registered for the mixed category could have men’s and women’s teams while those who had only registered for the men’s category could have a women’s team and vice-versa at one registration cost only.
He said this was because only a few had registered for the mixed category.
The event kicks off at 8am and teams will be allocated into four pools for the two categories.
The draws have been put out on the PMSA Facebook page.
“PMSA will observe a minute’s silence at kick-off of the first games in respect of the passing of long-time PMSA players and officials in the late Richard Sios and Clement Cafu Anison,” Ealedona said.
