THE Port Moresby Soccer Association (PMSA) will kick off its 2020 calendar with a seven a-side football challenge on Feb 22 at the Bisini Football Grounds.
Competition president Joseph Ealedona said the challenge was a start-up competition to prepare players for the preseason and season proper scheduled for March and April respectively.
“This sevens challenge is also open to the government agencies and the corporate and business sector and will be good for these sectors to begin the New Year using this as a bonding exercise for their workforce,” Ealedona said.
He said the PMSA executive had agreed 10 per cent of the revenue taken from the sevens challenge would be donated to the Australian Bushfire appeal.
Admission is K2 across the board except for children under the age of 10 while registration per team is K500.
Registration is open for teams in men’s, women’s, mixed and masters divisions.
The PMSA concluded its 2019 season in October last year following four months of competitions across its nine divisions.
Ealedona said he and his executive would be looking to make the 2020 season bigger and better as Port Moresby’s biggest football association.
