PMV, taxi owners must register vehicles

Letters

THERE is a process that all public motor vehicle (PMV) owners go through and that is to get their taxis and buses registered before can operate their businesses.
It is under the Road Transport Authority’s (RTA) jurisdiction to issue taxis and PMV number plates and not the Motor Vehicle Insurance Ltd (MVIL). MVIL provides compulsory third party insurance and registration for motor vehicles.
It has come to our (RTA) attention that some taxi and bus operators are lying to us and/or they have been reluctant to pay the fees in order to get their vehicles insured and registered with MVIL.
