DURING the few days of horse-trading when all Morobean MPs were clearly aligned, the Kabwum MP was whisked away with the former Tewai-Siassi MP to Alotau.
Patrick Basa’s main rival was the People’s National Congress party candidate, who had gained the upper hand during the nomination and campaign period when the prime minister and his deputy party leader at the time, Mao Zeming, arrived in Kabwum Station on Sawong’s nomination day.
